Does DURAN® meet the requirements of the guidelines of the pharmacopoeias concerning UV-light transmission?
-
Yes, the light transmission properties of ambered DURAN® glass are being checked for every produced batch. The transmission of electromagnetic radiation of wavelengths between 290 and 450 nm lies below 10%.

Is there a contamination risk for my sample when using ambered DURAN® glass?
-
No, that is very unlikely. In contrast to the usual way of ambering, putting metal oxides into the molten glass in the furnace, DURAN uses a different approach. DURAN® glass is ambered by a post-processing Stepp only on the outside of the vessel. The inner surface remains unchanged.
