AMBERED DURAN®

For decades DURAN® glass has been produced ambered as well. Our unique ambering process guarantees that filled-in goods cannot be contaminated by dying agents.

In contrast to other glass DURAN® is ambered by a post-processing step and not directly in the furnace. The ambering takes place on the outside of the glass only because it is achieved by a diffusion dye which is burned into the glass.

It goes without saying that ambered DURAN® glass is compliant with the requirements of pharmacopoeias (e.g. USP <671>). The transmission of electromagnetic radiation between the wavelengths of 290 and 450 nm lies below 10%.

Varnishing

Obviously there are a number of excellent varnishes with which DURAN® glass can be colored from the outside. Please contact us if you require varnished glass products from our product range.
