| On the occasion of this year’s Analytica Fair in Munich (11th – 14th May), SCHOTT AG in Mainz is the world’s first manufacturer of laboratory glass to introduce the ‘Retrace Code’. This eight-digit batch code shown on “DURAN” laboratory glass bottles allows the bottles to be retraced to the point of production, including the matching batch. |

| Permeable and Tight at the same Time – the Membrane Cap |
| At Analytica 2004 (Munich, 11th to 14th May), SCHOTT AG, Mainz will present another new screw cap for “DURAN” laboratory bottles. A sealed-in PTFE foil at the centre of the blue ’Membrane Cap’ allows for extremely fast pressure compensation between the bottle contents and the environment. It is gas permeable, both for low as well as for high pressure, but at the same time liquid tight. |
