Glass-ceramic laboratory protection plates |

Traditionally asbestos covered metal plates were used to protect glass items heated by Bunsen burners. Asbestos is, however, a health risk and its use in laboratories is no longer permitted. That is why glass-ceramic laboratory protection plates are now used. This glass-ceramic has an extremely low thermal expansion. As a result it is very resistant to thermal shock and can be used between -200°C and 700°C. Quadrupods and plate holders for support stands are available as accessories.
